Festive Weekend Planned in Falmouth

Your guide to Falmouth Holidays by the Sea 2013, a full weekend of festivities from Friday's fashion show and caroling to Sunday's Christmas parade, with plenty of Santa sightings along the way.

Friday, December 6

Holiday Tea & Fashion Show, 2:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m., Woods Hole Golf Club: special first-time event to help retailers, salons, jewelers, and other holiday shops and boutiques showcase their holiday offerings.

Holiday Carol Sing at Nobska Lighthouse, 5:30 p.m., Historic Nobska Lighthouse, Nobska Road, Woods Hole: festive seasonal sing along followed by hot chocolate and cookies. 

Saturday, December 7


Family Pancake Breakfast & Parade Raffle,
8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., Morse Pond School, Jones Road, Falmouth: face painting, pancake breakfast and family raffle to benefit the Falmouth Christmas Parade. 

Seafaring Santa Sails into Falmouth, 11 a.m., docks at Falmouth Harbor (behind the Flying Bridge Restaurant).

2nd Annual Jingle Jog 5K Run & Elf Run, 12:30 p.m. Starts from The Flying Bridge Restaurant, around Falmouth Heights (follows some of the Falmouth Road Race route) and back to The Flying Bridge.  (Elf Run precedes 5k, is shorter and for children 12 and under.)

Nobska Lighthouse Public Viewing, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Historic Nobska Lighthouse, Nobska Road, Woods Hole: Santa visits at Noontime. 

Main Street / Queen’s Buyway Stroll 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Annual Lighting of the Falmouth Village Green, 7 p.m. The Falmouth Brass Choir will lead the caroling before a special visit from Santa. People are encouraged to bring flashlights and dress warmly. 

Sunday, December 8 

50th Annual Falmouth Christmas Parade: Parade steps off at noontime at the Falmouth Mall and proceeds down Main Street to the Village Green. Known as Southeastern Massachusetts’ largest holiday parade featuring theme decorated floats, marching bands, live animals, costumed characters and Santa Claus.
