Mrs. Dolora John White is still the lovely proprietor of the legendary John's Shoe Store on Main Street. Old school service, shoes and quality have not diminished one bit over the years. The store may have moved up and down Main Street, but it certainly does not lack in quality and fashionable shoes at reasonable prices. In business for over forty years, it is still going strong.

the owners are more interested in making potential feel stupid for not seeing a sign indicatingRead More 'don't bring your drink into the store' than they are about welcoming them to buy shoes. I was interested in trying on and buying a pair of shoes until a store clerk (or owner or whoever) explained to wife that 'the sign in the doorway that almost hit your head says don't bring drinks in'. He added this condescending putdown after referring to her as "darlin'", an inappropriate form of familiarity that should be left only for close friends and family. LEARN TO BE POLITE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I totally understand and sympathize with the need to keep a clean store and prevent spills. but when you warn a customer to take the drink outside, it doesn't matter how many times you've had to say -- you still have the responsiblility to be polite and not insulting. You lost a sale because of that stupidity.
