Falmouth Community Rallies Around Family after Fire

Friends of Bernadine Gates and her two daughters are hosting fundraisers this week to help the family get back on their feet after their home was destroyed in a fire last week.

Bernadine Gates’ and her two daughters, 7-year-old Corynn and 9-year-old Cassidy, lost everything in a house fire November 8.  The family was left with only the clothes they were wearing the day of the fire. Friends want to help Bernadine, a single-mother and full-time student at Cape Cod Community College. Two fundraisers will be held this week to raise money for the family. Baccari's Diner is hosting a pizza party fundraiser Thursday November 15 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The diner’s owner, Debi Baccari will accept clothing and household items as well as financial donations. Community Health Center Prepares for June Fundraiser

All funds raised will directly benefit the thousands of underserved and underinsured children, adults, seniors, and families in the community that the Health Center cares for.

Community Health Center of Cape Cod’s "Come Sail Away With Us!" annual summer gala is being held again this year at MacDougalls’ Cape Cod Marine Service on Falmouth Harbor on Saturday, June 23. The Party Committee has been meeting regularly to plan for the gala, which will feature live music, dancing, Chef Roland’s hors d’oeuvres and gourmet stations, open bar, live and silent auctions, and cruise-inspired fun and décor. The Party Committee is pictured here aboard the 65-foot Mirador, owned by Keith and Isabel Besse and docked at MacDougalls’ in Falmouth. The Beach House Restaurant has launched a fundraising campaign to support the Pan Mass Challenge this month.

The Beach House Restaurant has launched a fundraising campaign to support the Pan Mass Challenge this month. The annual bike-a-thon on August 6 and 7 raises millions of dollars for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Throughout July, diners will be given the option to make a $1, $5 or other donation of their choice to the Beach House PMC Fund. At the end of the month, The Beach House will match all funds raised and send the donation to the Pan Mass Challenge, which has raised over $303 million for cancer research since 1980. “We’ve all been touched by cancer in one way or another,” said Beach House owner Pat Bonzagni. “This is a chance to support Dana-Farber and the life-saving work that they’re doing.
