Toby, an eight-year-old Maine coon cat is looking for a home.
by People for Cats Meet Toby, a handsome eight year old Maine coon. He has the long hair typical of his breed and is a medium-sized gray/brown tabby with green eyes. Toby is a bit reserved at first meeting but quickly relaxes and becomes friendly as soon as he is comfortable with someone. He has lived with other cats but might prefer to be an only cat so he can have more personal attention. PFC recommends that all house cats be kept indoors, but this is especially important for Toby because he is declawed. Toby is an affectionate cat and will be a good companion for someone in a quiet household. Visit Toby at our shelter, located at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m…

Fredlick is a friendly outgoing cat looking for a forever home.
by People for Cats Fredlick is a handsome, big orange and white cat who is about 4 years old. As the official greeter for his suite, Fredlick meets everyone who enters and rubs against their legs until he gets their attention. If someone kneels down facing away from him, he may climb up on their shoulders to remind them he is still there. After he has had a little petting, Fredlick is happy to amuse himself. This friendly, outgoing guy has adapted well to living with the other cats in his suite. Fredlick would prefer a home without toddler aged children but older children in the home would be fine. We are open to the public Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by appointment. The shelter address is 44 Beagle …

People for cats want to find a forever home for two Maine coon cats, Lilly and Jazzy.
By People for Cats This week we are featuring a pair of Maine coon girls, mom Lilly and daughter Jazzy. Maine coons are large, long-haired cats who typically have friendly, calm personalities. These girls are perfect examples of the breed. Lilly, a brown cat with white on her face and chest, is 9 years old and Jazzy, a mostly brown cat with a small amount of white on her chest, is 8. After having been rescued by a woman who heard they were going to be put down, these good tempered cats were brought to us. Eight to nine years old is only middle aged for cats; indoor cats often live to be 15 - 20 years and we hear frequently of cats that live into their twenties. Both Lilly and Jazzy are in good health, have been spayed, and are current with…

Winnie is friendly, trusting, loves attention and is looking for a new home.
From People for Cats: Winnie's coloring is interesting. She is a medium sized, black cat but has individual white hairs throughout her coat. Only about 3 or 4 years old, Winnie was left behind at her home when her former people moved. In spite of having been abandoned, Winnie is friendly and trusting and she loves attention from our volunteers. She has adjusted well to living in a suite with other cats and could live in a multi-cat household. Winnie is good natured and affectionate and would be a good cat for any type of family. Our shelter is located at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call our hotline for an appointment. Mocha would do well with any type of family. Visit Mocha and our other cats at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. We are open to the public Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by appointment. People for Cats, Box 422, West Falmouth, MA 02574. Hotline: 508-540-5654.

Black and Polar are two cats in need of a home; the two can be adopted together or separately.
From People for Cats: Black is a handsome 5 year old tuxedo cat who was surrendered with his buddy Polar. Black is shyer than the gregarious Polar but sweet and friendly. At the shelter Black had been hiding in his suite's outdoor run but we are happy to see that he has relaxed now and is out and about in the suite. He and Polar can be adopted together or separately. Several of our volunteers have become Black's fan club and report that he purrs loudly when stroked. This handsome boy would prefer a quiet home without the bustle of young children, although he would do fine with any type of family if he and Polar are adopted together. Our shelter address is 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. We are open to the public Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m…

Stormy had a rough time in the first few weeks of her life, but she has come a long way and is ready to be adopted now. When only a few weeks old, Stormy was attacked by a bird of prey and was lucky to survive. As a result of this experience, Stormy was fearful and shy. Two of our volunteers have fostered this little tuxedo girl during the months of recovery from her injuries. She is still a shy girl but she is sweet and enjoys attention when she gets to know someone. She is comfortable with other cats but she also likes to be around her people when they are doing chores around the house. Sitting nearby, Stormy supervises their progress and listens as they talk to her. Stormy loves to play with a friendly, male cat in her foster home so we…

by Sally Heimerdinger, People for Cats Our featured cat this week is Chloe, a 3 year old white cat with medium length fur. Chloe is a calm, confident girl who enjoys being with people and is used to living with other cats too. People for Cats recommends that all adopted cats be kept indoors because the lifespan of an indoor-outdoor cat is about half that of one who remains inside. For white cats, remaining inside is especially important because the pink areas of their skin, such as the tips of their ears and noses, are prone to sunburn which can lead to skin cancer. Chloe will be happy in a home where she can watch the outdoor world from a safe window. This beautiful, friendly girl would be a good addition for any type of family. Adoption …

Maserati is a sweet brown tabby cat looking for a home. Learn how you can adopt Maserati.
From: People for Cats We would be curious to know how Maserati got her name, but we do know that this sweet girl is ready for a home of her own. Maserati is a brown tabby, very small, and only about 2 years old. She is somewhat shy but seems to get along with both people and other cats. Although she is spending most of her time in a cat condo in her suite, she loves for us to reach in and pet her. She purrs quietly and we suspect will get braver once she relaxes in her new surroundings. We also notice that she is calm and friendly when another cat pokes its' head inside to say "hello." Maserati came to us when her family separated so we want to ensure that her next adopter commits to giving her the forever home she deserves. We are willing…
