Ferries Suspended Again as Blizzard Rages

Falmouth town offices are open today but the Steamship Authority has again cancelled boats into the afternoon. Forecasters say we can expect another 3 to 6 inches of snow before this storm finally departs.

The Steamship Authority has now cancelled the boats that had been scheduled to run this morning and into the afternoon. Check steamshipauthority.com for information on specific sailings.

The Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority webpage indicates that ferry service will resume as scheduled Wednesday beginning with the 10:45 a.m. sailing from Vineyard Haven.

The National Weather Service blizzard warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Forecasters say we can expect another 3 to 6 inches of snow before this storm finally departs. 

Falmouth schools and some libraries are closed today, but town offices are open and the main Falmouth Public Library is scheduled to open at its usual 1 p.m. Wednesday time. The main library will also be available as a warming station for any town residents who may be without heat.
