Big Summer Book Sale

The Woods Hole Public Library will be holding its annual
summer book sale on Saturday, August  10
from 10 AM-5 PM. The book sale room will be filled to over- flowing with books
new to the sale, the biggest of the year, carefully arranged by the volunteer
book sale committee. Not only will the wall shelves be filled with books, but
also the middle of the room will be replete with tables covered with books.

One of the basic pleasures of this eagerly awaited sale is
that all the books are very reasonably priced. The standard prices are $ 2 for
hard backs, and fifty cents for paper backs, though there are always special
books at slightly higher prices.

A recent donation of 10 large boxes of superb cook books,
donated by a gourmet chef who is moving to a smaller home, will be a feature,
as will many beautiful art books donated by a local artist and author. Also a
large number of books about the lives of musicians have been received.

One of the additional great
pleasures of this sale is the careful arrangement  of the books: hard back fiction is arranged
alphabetically by author, non-fiction is arranged by subject on the wall
shelves. There are even tables specializing in “collectibles,” others with
recent best sellers.  As some of the
eager shoppers say “You have really great stuff!”

The doors will open promptly at 10 AM. After the opening day, the sale will be open only during regular Library hours. For more information,
call the Library at 508-548-8961.
