Nature Photography by Dmitry Mozzerhin - LAST TWO WEEKS!

Nature Photography by Dmitry Mozzerhin will be on display at the Maser Gallery at Falmouth Community Television from October 7 through November 1, 2013.

Dmitry Mozzherin was born in Russia on the eastern border of Siberia. “I have been a photographer pretty much all my life,” says Dmitri, “I got my first camera in 1969 when I was six years old. I started to work in the dark room developing films and making black and white prints when I was around the age of ten.”

Dmitry is a molecular biologist by training, and also a computer scientist, currently working at Woods Hole’s Marine Biological Laboratory as part of Encyclopedia of Life effort (http://eol.org). After graduating from Ural State University in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, he attained his Ph.D. at the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology in Moscow in 1993. Shortly thereafter, he accepted an invitation to work as a scientist at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. In 2004 he bought a digital SLR - Nicon d70, and found himself drawn to wildlife photography.

Dmitry’s nature photography work was displayed in Washington D.C. at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s Nature’s Best Photography exhibition in 2066-2007.

Dmitry’s other artistic hobby is computer modeling and sculpture using Blender, the open-source computer graphics program. He recently taught several animation classes at Falmouth Community Television.
