Celebrate the Solstice in Woods Hole

Your guide to this weekend's performances by the Solstice Singers with sword dancing, a mummer's play and early music by the instrumental group Passacaglia, Saturday and Sunday in the Woods Hole Community Hall.

Written by Wendell Bishop

The Solstice Singers will celebrate the holidays with lively Renaissance style holiday festivities including music, drama and dance.

In addition to the Solstice Singers, the performances on Dec. 21 and 22 will feature renowned early music instrumental ensemble Passacaglia, dramatic
English sword or Morris dancing, and an original mummer’s play with a whimsical
take on the Arthurian legend.

The program includes such favorites as the “Boar’s Head Carol” and “What Child is This,” along with other selections reflecting the reverence and revelry of the season.
