After School Bus Crash, Superintendent Takes Driver Off Route
The Falmouth Enterprise reports that school bus driver Melonie Rivera, who told police last week that a truck forced her off the road, causing an accident that sent nine children to the hospital, was the subject of complaints before that crash.
Falmouth police have not yet made public the results of their investigation into last week's collision that sent nine children to Falmouth Hospital after their school bus ran off the road and into a utility pole on Thomas Landers Road.
But the Falmouth Enterprise reports that Melonie L. Rivera, the school bus driver who told police a white box truck driving in her lane forced her to swerve off the road, has been the subject of multiple complaints about her own driving — including one from a man who said Rivera forced him and two other motorists to swerve off the road less than a month ago.
While last week's crash is being investigated, Rivera has been relieved of her driving duties at the request of Falmouth schools superintendent Bonny Gifford, the Enterprise reports in "School Bus Driver Involved in Falmouth Accident Taken Off Route."
