Tuesday, Aug. 6

The Falmouth Historic Districts Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Falmouth Town Hall. Then, at 7:30 p.m., the Solid Waste Advisory Committee will meet.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

At 7 p.m., the Falmouth Bikeways Committee will meet in the Old Water Department Room at Falmouth Town Hall. Meanwhile, the Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.

Thursday, Aug. 8

At 5:30 p.m., the Zoning Board of Appeals will meet in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Falmouth Town Hall.

Friday, Aug. 9

The Falmouth Recreation Department and the Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) will host a Family Fun Run on Friday at the track at Falmouth High School. For your convenience you can register online now at register.racepartner.com/falmouthroadrace or on race day in person starting at the track at 4:30 p.m., with the first race starting at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Helen Kennedy, Director of the Falmouth Recreation Department, at 508.457.2567.

Saturday, Aug. 10

The Woods Hole Public Library will hold its annual book sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Standard prices for the books will be $2 for hardbacks, 50 cents for paperbacks and a number of speciality books at other various prices.

The 23rd Annual Falmouth Walk till kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday from Falmouth Town Hall Square. Registration till take place on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Quarterdeck Restaurant on Main Street, as well as on Saturday at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $20. The walk follows a 3.2-mile route from Town Hall to Surf Drive, then along the harbor and back along Main Street.

The Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve will celebrate 25 years of research, education and stewardship at an anniversary gala on Saturday. The event, co-sponsored by the Falmouth Artist Guild and Washburn Island Oysters, will take place at 6 p.m. and will feature the works of 25 local artists, live bluegrass music with Phil and Daniel Rosenthal, a silent auction, extensive hors d’oeuvres including Washburn Island Oysters, and an open bar. All proceeds from the event will support the education and outreach programs at the Reserve.

Sunday, Aug. 11

The annual Falmouth Road Race returns on Sunday to the streets of Falmouth. Details on the race can be found here, and traffic information can be found here.
